Rogers, AR slogan is “where possible lives”. The town is in
a transition between old and new and quickly developing. The city of Rogers has
come a long way since the railroad and Civil War days. It seems like they have
made the impossible (economy, historical challenges, etc.), possible. This idea
of making “possible” happen within a hotel is the main focus of this project.
With the target audience being business men and women
relocated to Northwest Arkansas for extended periods of time, it is important
to design a space where feeling at home (something that is usually viewed as
impossible) is possible. Impossible brings a multitude of words to mind; some
of which include: bold, illusionistic, visionary, and quirky. These terms come
into play throughout the design with spacious room sizes, enticing curved lines,
loud colors, bold patterns, and curious openings. Maintaining a balance between
bold/loud and “homey”/comfortable will be displayed through sinuous curved
lines, a few repeated patterns and bright lively colors.
